Buxton Athletic Club Juniors were voted “High Peak Junior Team of the Year” and “Derbyshire Junior Team of The Year” in 2017 so rest assured your young athletes will be in safe hands when you sign them up to Buxton!
We are a community based, inclusive athletics and running club that offers quality, progressive coaching for juniors of all abilities from age 7 to 18.Buxton Athletic Club holds the prestigious Club Mark award. Club Mark is the universally acknowledged cross sport accreditation scheme for community sports Clubs.
We are affiliated to the North Staffordshire Cross Country League and the Manchester Area Cross Country League as well as the Derbyshire Mini-Leagues in Sportshall, Cross Country and Track and Field. We have had several youngsters selected to run for Derbyshire in all disciplines from Track to Mountain Running, Cross Country and Fells, including several selected to represent England last season.
We regularly put out full teams at local, regional and national events and have a very successful Fell Running Team who are the 2017 Silver Medal winning team in the English Junior Fell Running Championships.
We have an annual Junior Presentation to celebrate the achievements of our juniors and various participation awards to act as incentives for the juniors such as t-shirts for completing a number of cross country races and trophies for trying hard in training!
