For a second year, Buxton AC Juniors have arranged a Race Series for all juniors to take part in. Designed to be a fun and an easy introduction to racing across several disciplines – park/road, fell and cross country.
Athletes will be able to win a prize for participation, it’s about taking part and having fun, not race times or finishing positions. All juniors are required to run any 5 or more events out of the 11 listed from March to October.
The races are a mixture of Buxton AC organised events, free Parkruns, and local events which require a small entry fee. Ideal for those new to racing as well as those looking to gain more experience and confidence. Help is on hand for those new to racing, where we can answer any questions you may have, making it a great way to learn more about running and competition. The atmosphere is always friendly and supportive, with everyone cheering each other on to the finish line. It’s also an opportunity to explore new places and support local events, making this series a great way to get out and about with your family and friends.
Details of the races and links to enter are outlined in the table below, for the Buxton AC organised events, just turn up on the day. Look out for the exciting and brand new uphill only time trial race, Grinlow Dash! As well as the Shutlingsloe Fell Race which is also a counter in this year’s Junior English Fell Championship.
