Buxton Earn Wins In Two Cross Country Leagues

This weekend saw the last fixtures in 2 of the cross country leagues and Buxton juniors came away with medals in both!

Over in Derby at Moorways Stadium the last in the Derby Mini League Cross Country league where Erin Colebrook made it a hattrick of wins to take the overall U11 girls title. Team mate Charlie Maclairin finished in a 10 ten adding an 8th in this match to finish a smashing 7th overall.

The last in the North Staffordshire Cross Country League was held at Rodbaston College. 14 hardy juniors took on the waterlogged course in freezing conditions to complete the league. First up were the U11 girls team of Lena Goulding, Flo Brown and Eden Pigott who came in 10th, 24th and 25th overall. The team completed the series in 6th position overall.

The U11 boys team of Jonty Brown, Dylan Gray and Jim Burgess finished the league strongly in 12th, 26th and 32nd positions for a team finish position of 6th. Rebecca Cudahy represented the U13 girls and finished in 29th girls with Tommy Golding finishing 27th U13 boy. Sienna Philips had a good run the the under 15 girls race to come in 6th with under 17 girls Amy Whelan and Heather Wilshaw also having cracking runs to come in 4th and 10th.

The stars of the series were the under 17 boys team who completed the series by taking the Gold! This match the team consisted of Sam Soles, 3rd, Stu Diamond 6th and Ed Diamond 7th but we cannot forget team members Dan Frewer and Harry Bond who scored points for the team in earlier matches. Sam Soles also rounded off the series with an individual Silver.
