Buxton AC juniors dominated at this years Staffordshire Moorlands Summer series which drew to a close this week with the last race held at Leek Cricket Club. The series comprises of 8 races held in various venues with challenging courses taking in fells, tracks, grasslands and woodlands. The best performances over 6 races give each entrant an overall ranking with Buxton taking a massive haul of 8 winners medals!
Lucy Bednall came away with the overall girls prize with Sienna Phillips finishing 3rd overall. In the age category rankings Buxton took a clean sweep in the JF14 with Lucy 1st, Abbie Fryer-Winder 2nd and Ava Hazelhurst in 3rd. Sienna was 1st JF11 with team mate Grace Bond in 2nd. Amy Whelan took the winnings for 1st JF13 with Lucy Whelan coming 3td overall in the Fun Run U11 rankings. The Buxton Girls team also took the 1st and 2nd placed teams overall with Lucy, Amy and Sienna in 1st and Ava, Abbie and Grace 2nd. Lucy, Abbie and Ava also won the JF14 team rankings.
The Buxton boys also had impressive results with Jake O’Donnell winning the JM11 category and Harry Bond the JM14. Jim Burgess finished the series with an overall ranking of 5th.
