Fourteen Buxton AC runners looking for sunshine and warmth made the short trip to Alsager to test themselves at the legendary 5 mile road race, featuring nearly a thousand runners from all over the country.
Buxton’s stand-out performance came from Kate Ledin who broke the Club’s Female veteran 55+ record by 52 seconds. Kate was 2nd in her age category (50th woman and 288th overall), setting a new mark of 36:25. First home for Buxton’s women in 30:44 was Amy Clark, 9th in the women’s race (95th overall) with Katie Rolfe next in 35:56 (47th woman, 281st overall).
For the men, Ben Light led the team home in 34th place (time 28:02), with Rob White 37th in 28:14 (4th male over 40). The Buxton team of Ben, Rob and Amy finished an excellent 6th overall.
