Buxton AC Juniors were out in force every Saturday at various Parkruns all over the country but what made this an extraordinary week was that every single Buxton Junior running this week managed to run their 5km races in new personal best times, including one junior who even got into the countries top 10 fastest parkrun times!
Lauren McNeil ran at Beeston Parkrun coming first overall, beating all the male runners, with second place over nearly a minute behind her! Her time of 17.24 was a new age category record on this course, a personal best performance for Lauren on this course. Her fantastic time also scored her a 6th fastest time in the country for all women running parkruns this week – with household name Jo Pavey coming in 3rd fastest!
Will Longden ran at Marple Parkrun finishing first overall in an outstanding time of 17.34. This was Will’s 13th time running Marple but the first in which he was first overall. He smashed his personal best time by a whopping 37 secs!
At Lyme Park Parkrun Buxton AC junior Jonty Brown finished in 6th position overall – an outstanding achievement considering Jonty is only 11 years old! He ran a blistering 22.07 knocking 49 secs off his PB time on this particularly tough, hilly parkrun course. His sister Flo also had a fantastic run finishing first under 10 female in another personal best time of 27.56!
Under 10 runner Erin Colebrook also ran a personal best – this time at Bakewell Parkrun. She ran an impressive 23.49 knocking 3mins 33 secs off her previous PB! Team mate Charlie MaClaurin made his debut parkrun at the same race setting the bar high with a speedy time of 25.28 to come second in his age group of JM10.
Last but not least Buxton’s Stuart Diamond tried out Sutton Park for the first time and smashed it – coming in first overall in a super time of 18.20 a parkrun personal best for Stu!
