It was a testing course for this months round of the Manchester Area Cross Country League. Tatton Park is a new venue for the League but one that proved popular for it’s tough, varied terrain and panoramic views.
Buxton juniors put out an impressive 14 athletes, 5 of which ran in the under 11 race first up to take on the challenge. Jonty Brown led the boys home in an impressive 19th position followed by Dylan Gray in 47th. Lena Goulding was first Buxton girl in coming 39th followed by Eden Pigott, Rachel Cudahy, and Flo Brown – in 47th, 69th and 76th. The team were 16th overall.
The under 13 race saw Jack Cook storm home in 16th position with teammates Tommy Goulding and Matt Rolfe in 59th and 63rd, and Rebecca Cudahy 65th. The under 13 team were 13th overall.
Joseph Thorogood represented the under 15 finishing 51st, while Sam Soles had a good run in the under 17 boys to finish 4th. The under 17 girls ran well with Amy Whelan finishing a strong 8th and Heather Wilshaw 18th.
