An auspicious Saturday at Bakewell Parkrun for Buxton Athletic Club, with three personal best finishing times as well as Jake Fearn taking star spot by racing home in first place from a field of almost 300 runners.
Fearn’s time was his Parkrun personal best as well as his road personal best, a fantastic time of 16.38. Next home for Buxton and also in a cracking personal best time of 21.32 was Samantha Willis, second female overall, 1st Female Vet 40 and 25th overall. Target 5K graduate Martin Hughes ran a personal best of 30.53 in 208th place, his times improving all the time. Pete Bailey was 38th in 22.13, Katie Rolfe 30th in 22.19, Ian Drayton 70th in 23.55, Justin Holmes 134th in 26.51, Charlie Aucott 136th in 26.56, Gill Thompson 156th and 1st Female Vet 55 in 27.46, Matthew Rolfe 175th in 27.55 and Tim Rolfe, returning from injury, 175th in 28.41.
Over at Glossop, sole Buxton runner was Neil Evans who was 25th finisher from a field of almost 170 in 23.52.
A quartet of Buxton AC athletes took part in the Alderley Park 5 Mile Winter Trail Race and demonstrated the fine form Buxton runners are well known for. Amy Clark claimed the second female placing in a speedy 34.12, 34th overall from a huge field of 585, while Ben Light took the 5th overall finishing place in a marvellous 29.58. Dan Latham was 30th finisher in 33.41, and returning to training and racing was Paul Light who came home in 39.17, 151st placing.
