Sunday saw the second year of the Litton Elf Junior Fell race held in conjunction with the iconic Litton Christmas Cracker.
With clear but wintery conditions this tough race takes in an impressive climb of 938 feet of climb over 4 miles of idyllic limestone scenery through Tansley Dale and up onto Wardlow Hay Cop where they had to run around a festively decorated trig point complete with Christmas tree!
Heather Wilshaw retained her title as “Elf Queen” coming first lady, first U17 girl, with a time that was only 31 secs off her own record time! Second girl and first u15 girl was Amy Whelan, the girls pushing each other throughout the race. Team mates Jacob Buckley and Elliot Meylan came in 2nd and 3rd U19 respectively. The winners received their prizes from Chris Theyer of the Thomas Theyer Foundation who sponsor the Litton Elf.
