Last weekend saw Buxton AC’s Ellie Wilson represent the club in the 1500m at the Sheffield Festival of Athletics. Held in the indoor facilities at the English Institute Of Sport this was an Open event welcoming athletics from all over the area.

This was Ellie’s first time competing on an indoor track and she took it all in her stride!  Making her debut competing on an indoor track Ellie managed to achieve an outstanding personal best time of 4mins 50secs taking 27 seconds off her previous best for this distance.

Also last weekend Sienna Phillips and Abbie Fryer-Winder travelled to Lymington Spa for the prestigious Midlands Cross Country Championships.  Sienna had a great race despite suffering a spike injury to her toe on the start to finish 39th out of 121 runners in the under 13 girls race, and Abbie worked hard to finish 91st in the under 15 girls.
