Not content with becoming Midland Counties U20 2000m Steeplechase Champion last weekend, Buxton AC’s Ellie Wilson went on to add a Gold medal in the 1500m at this weekend’s Derbyshire Schools Track and Field Championships.

Having qualified in both events for the Mason’s Cup Inter-Counties Track and Field Championships, Wilson has chosen to represent Derbyshire in the Intermediate girls 1500m Steeplechase at this prestigious event.  Also qualifying for the Mason Trophy which will be held at Birmingham Alexander Stadium next weekend, were Buxton’s Heather Wilshaw who won Gold in the Intermediate girls High Jump and Sam Soles who won Silver in the Intermediate boys 1500m.

Buxton AC Juniors also putting in great performances at the Derbyshire Schools County Championships were Ed Diamond – Bronze in the Intermediate 800m, Will Longden 4th in the Intermediate 3000m and Ava Hazelhurst who ran a PB in the Intermediate girls 800m. Running in the Staffordshire Schools County Championships, Buxton’s Harry Bond won Bronze in the 3000m.
