On Wednesday 20^th April a group of Buxton Seniors and Juniors travelled to a local fell race in Glossop – the well known Herod Farm Fell race. This famous route is a short but extremely steep (3 miles with over 1000ft of climbing) course. In the female U18 category, Grace Longden ran a great race to finish 1^st junior girl and 4^th lady overall. Caleb Winfield also represented Buxton Juniors to finish first U18 male and achieved 8^th overall. Jo Bednall also ran an excellent race to win her age category too. Overall, there were some impressive results for all the Buxton runners. David Fryer Winder came 29^th, David Finch 39^th, Jonathan Sewell 42^nd closely followed by Nick Jones in 43^rd, Mathew Nadin 95^th, Richard Bouglas 110^th, Paul Markall 114^th, Katie Rolfe 115^th, Tracy Gregory 140^th, Heather Fryer Winder 142^nd, Tim Rolfe 144^th, George Web 146^th and Duncan Bryant 148^th.

The success continued on Sunday 24^th April when 7 Buxton Juniors travelled up to Black Combe, South Lake District to compete in the first English Junior Fell Running Championship of the season. These routes for all races were long, very steep and the weather was windy! In the U15s, Buxton juniors Jack Cook and Lucy Whelan finished 8^th and 27^th. The next race was the U17s, this race climbed to the summit of Black Combe – with over 1900ft of climing over a 7.4km course. Grace Longden ran to finish 4^th girl overall with Connie Jenneson placing 11^th girl. The U19 race saw Buxton Juniors Will Longden place 2^nd, Lucy Bednall 4^th and Amy Whelan 6^th. An excellent day of racing with an amazing set of results by the Buxton Juniors.

Meanwhile, Erin Colebrook competed at the Derby Track and Field Mini League and took part in many events delivering some brilliant results. In the discus, Erin finished 1^st place with a distance of 15.74m! Whilst on the track, Erin finished 5^th in the 200m in a time of 33.43secs and then in the 800m, placed 2^nd (2.45 secs).
