This weekend was the 3 Days In May – 3 fell races in 3 days. The first race on Friday was the Hayfield May Queen. Buxton Junior Jacob Miller represented the club coming in 19th overall – 2nd under 19 in a field of 90. On the Sunday it was another hot day with nearly 80 runners taking on the mad dash to the summit of Lantern Pike with river crossings and a seemingly vertical bank to contend with. Jacob Miller was back on the hills putting in a great run to come in 14th overall 3rd under 19. He was beaten by team mates Jacob Winfield and Dan Soles, both under 19, who came in first and second overall.
In the shortened Junior version of the Lantern Pike race designed for under 14 year olds, Buxton’s Amy Whelan came in 2nd overall (1st Girl) Amy Whelan. Her sister Lucy was 15th overall – 1st under 12 girl. Henry Hazlehurst came 1st U10 boy (13th overall) with team mate Liam Jones 2nd U10 boy (14th overall).
