Buxton AC’s super sprint specialist Ryan Rawlinson added another double victory to his seasons bests with a personal best performance to win both the 100m and 200m at Derby’s Moorways Stadium for the Derby mini-league track and field match 2. Running in the under 13 category Ryan is going from strength to strength, improving his times with every competition he enters!
Also having a great day out at Moorways were the rest of the Buxton AC juniors. In the under 11’s category Rebecca Cudahy put in a great effort in her long jump debut to come in 5th position them running 600m coming in 8th knocking a second off her previous best. Matt Rolfe also ran the 600m coming in 8th.
In the under 13 category Sienna Phillips took a second off her 100m time to come in 6th and ran an impressive 1500m to finish 3rd. Ben Hawtin and Joseph Thorogood made their track debut in the 1500m with Ben finishing an outstanding 2nd and Joseph putting in a great run to finish 7th. Ben also ran the 200m and came in 4th.
In the under 15 category Abbie Fryer-Winder and Matt Schofield both ran the 1500m. Abbie came in 5th and Matt, making his track debut, came in a very promising 3rd.
In the under 9 fun 50m dash – Owen Rawlinson emulated his older brother to win his heat, followed by Hannah Cudahy and Georgia Cudahy in 4th and 5th. All 3 youngster running faster times than they ran in the first match!
